About Pastor Dan Carlson

 

Pastor Dan Carlson was ordained as a pastor of The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) in August of 2010. He is the founder and president of Public Safety Ministries Inc. a Minnesota, 501 c3, nonprofit ministry with the mission: “To provide spiritual health care services to Public Safety Professionals throughout Minnesota.” He has been called to Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Excelsior Minnesota, and deployed  to serve as a missions pastor with Public Safety Ministries.

 

Dan retired as Police Chief of the City of Eden Prairie Minnesota in January of 2007. After serving 25 years in the law enforcement profession as a police officer, he transitioned to a new role serving the profession as a police and fire chaplain. Since 2005 Dan has served as chaplain to numerous police and fire agencies, beginning while he was still an active police chief.  Additionally he has provided short term spiritual care services to many other departments, organizations and individuals throughout Minnesota.
